I service most of Lake County (Waukegan, Gurnee, Libertyville, Wadsworth, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Grayslake) and parts of Cook County.
I teach in-home lessons several days a week, so availability is determined by my driving routes.
If you’re interested in in-home lessons, send me a message and I’ll see if I’m able to make the trip to your residence!

Yes! I taught remotely for several years (throughout the pandemic) and my students made great progress! I have several remote students now in different time zones that have been studying for quite some time.
I listen intently when students play their assignments and watch their technique carefully. With clear weekly homework goals and strong communication, remote lessons are an awesome avenue for learning if you need an option from the comfort of your home (or travel spot!)

Piano, guitar, voice, and violin! Each of them is a blast to play :)

I’m a strong believer that anyone is capable of being a musician with time, support, and practice! I like to think my approach is kind and friendly. I want to help you achieve your goals, whether that’s learning the newest pop song for fun or preparing for a performance!

That depends on the instrument!
Piano: I’ve taught students as young as five years old. They start out by focusing on beat, rhythm, creativity, coordination, and identifying different piano keys. Readiness at that age level depends on each individual student, and most are ready by age seven. Feel free to ask any questions you have about piano readiness when you complete the form below, and I can help you figure out if the timing is right to start piano!
Voice: Nine is the youngest I’d start formal voice lessons with students (upper elementary is the age at which students are physically developed enough to start studying voice), but honestly, kids who love to sing will sing no matter how old they are! If your student is younger than nine years old, I’d recommend booking piano and I can incorporate age-appropriate singing elements into their lessons!
Guitar: The biggest challenge for young guitar students is patience and dexterity. I’ve had students as young as seven years old start guitar successfully! Young guitarists should start with a nylon-stringed instrument or an electric guitar to make holding the strings down easier. They should also use a thin, flexible pick. It takes a lot of focus for young guitarists to consistently make clear sounds, so some younger kiddos will be ready to shred right away, and others will benefit from starting with piano (an instrument that’s easier to understand and make sounds on) until they’re ready for guitar later.
Violin: The youngest I’d start a violinist is first or second grade. Dexterity and patience are factors here just like they are for guitar. Beginning violin focuses a lot on physical technique to create clear sounds before playing individual notes, so like guitar, it’s not a bad idea to start with piano and schedule violin once your kiddo has built up some musical confidence!

YES! I love teaching adults!!!
It breaks my heart when someone tells me (all too often), “I wish I’d stuck with piano when I was a kid.”
Let’s fix that! PLEASE let me teach you!!!

Pricing is dependent on lesson format and lesson length. Families are invoiced at the end of each month.
Rates for Summer 2026
In-home lessons:
$60.00 per 45 min lesson
$80.00 per 60 min lesson
On-site and remote lessons:
$35.00 per 30 min lesson
$52.50 per 45 min lesson
$70.00 per 60 min lesson
Tuition Update: When September 2026 rolls around, pricing will shift to a flat monthly rate with specific “makeup weeks” available for missed lessons, but the cost per lesson will stay the same. The goal is to keep scheduling flexible if a student needs to miss a week (i.e. illness, vacation, etc) while fortifying their progress through consistent lessons. This also allows me to continue teaching full-time and make my students my biggest priority.

Group lessons for piano and guitar are around the corner! They will be offered mid-year in 2026. Group lessons are a fun and cost-effective way to reach your musical goals while also having a community to support you.
If you’d like to know more about group lessons, fill out the form below and let me know so I can reach out once classes are in session!

The ideal piano for lessons will have 88 keys and will have weighted keys (meaning you have to exert some effort to push the keys down — that helps develop proper technique, builds finger strength, and gives pianists a wider span for expressive range).
The most important feature your piano needs to have for progress is weighted keys.
Past that, it doesn’t matter if your piano is digital or acoustic! You can find some great options at local piano stores, sites like Sweetwater and Reverb, and even Facebook Marketplace! Facebook Marketplace has a treasure trove of available pianos if you’re willing to pay moving and tuning costs!
